CCES Performs Energy Audit for Apartment Towers
CCES performed an ASHRAE Level II energy audit for two major apartment towers operated by East River Housing Corporation in Lower Manhattan. Aggregated energy data was obtained and usage by the two towers computed. CCES performed a site visit, including visiting several apartment units to determine usage and effectiveness of the heat delivery system. CCES determined a number of energy conservation measures, including a number of potential energy reduction strategies, their estimated upfront costs, their energy savings, and likely payback. In particular, CCES focused on lighting in common areas, where there are particular opportunities for saving electricity costs and provide needed light for the residents, many of them being elderly. The project went smoothly and East River Housing appreciated the diverse energy cost-saving strategies presented to them.
